Air New Zealand flies to Houston

The passengers were welcomed to Houston with a performance on the tarmac by a kapa haka group made up of Air New Zealand staff.

Air New Zealand's inaugural service to Houston arrived on Tuesday Afternoon at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Air New Zealand are using their refurbished Boeing 777-200 on this flight. This is Air NZ's fifth North American Route. Pecan Pie, a Southern State Delicacy was handed out by Air New Zealand staff to passengers on board. This new route allows Kiwis to discover the southern states and beyond and or Americans to visit New Zealand which just became closer with an approximate 14 hour flight.

Nadi Airport opens new Departure Concourse

Nadi Airport launched their new concourse for public travel on Monday 16 November. The new concourse is a introductory stage to Nadi Airport's step to having a world class airport.

Some of the new stores that have opened are Tappoo Fiji Duty Free, Jacks, Prouds; which have upgraded to world class duty free stores, A prayer room and a new Fiji Airways Lounge and a Bula Bar which will feature Gloria Jeans Coffee

A major addition to Nadi Airport is Motibhai Group Fiji launching Burger King Fiji. The second largest hamburger fast food joint will be servicing have opened one store in the departure lounge. They will open one in the Farewellers Hall. The will open one in the hub area of Martintar and Burger King outlets in Suva.

Manila-Cairns-Auckland with Philippines Airlines

Philippines  Airlines will launch services to Auckland from Manila later this year.
It will be the first time the airline has ever operated in New Zealand.
Philippines  Airlines will operate four A320 services a week from December 1.
The flights will stop over in Cairns and provide competition to Air New Zealand on that route.
The stopover in Cairns would be good news for Kiwis wanting to travel to the northern Queensland city and visitors from there wanting to travel to New Zealand.

Air New Zealand to Fly to Vietnam

Air New Zealand has announced it will fly three times a week to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

This Seasonal Service will start in June 2016, Auckland to Ho Chi Minh City is 11 hour flight will be serviced with a 767-300.

The addition of this service will make Air New Zealand service to 30 international destinations. 

Tickets will go on sale early 2016.

American Airlines to Auckland

American Airlines has more than 100 million frequent fliers.

American Airlines recently announced with Qantas that they will be flying to Auckland from June 28 2016. This Daily Service will be using a 787-8. This extra service will bring a price rivalry since Air New Zealand ruled the Auckland-LA direct route. After Qantas left their Auckland-LA in May 2012. Air New Zealand had monopoly over this. Now you have two choices to fly direct from Auckland to Los Angeles.

Fiji Airways to Singapore

 

Fiji Airways recently announced that they will fly their A330's from 5th April 2015. This is an important route as it connects the South Pacific to Asia such as places like India and Malaysia. People are able to leave Nadi at night and wake up in the metropolitan city-state of Singapore. This twice a week service which is a 10 hour flight saves Fijians time with a transit in New Zealand and Australia.

Air New Zealand's 787 Touches Down in Nadi


Saturday 24 October | Airports Fiji Limited welcomed the Air New Zealand Dreamliner. The 787 offers a better range of premium travel to Short Haul Passengers which is new to Fijian travellers. It will also add approximately 8000 more seats to this service. Air New Zealand will operates nine direct flights a week during peak season using a combination of Boeing 787-9, 777-200ER and smaller Airbus A320 aircraft.
